It was ready to float, but no one outside the Noah family ever thought it would have enough water to float on. No matter how many people doubt God, when one person believes Him, His hand will move. Noah, only one man, believed God, and God gave him a plan of deliverance. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights. And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life. And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in Genesis For eight souls, the hand of the Lord was stretched out.
That hand closed the door to the ark and it remained closed over a year. When the ark door finally opened, no other human beings were alive, only the eight souls in the ark. For such a long time, a hundred and twenty years in the building of the ark, God had given those outside the Noah family a chance to believe the flood would come. His hand was stretched to them, and yet they spewed out unbelief.
Trampling the blood of Jesus underfoot, they are saying by their actions: Away with Him! One day at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord Philippians , Noah had to leave all his kin behind, with the exception of his immediate family. Only seven others went into the ark with him.
He had worked over a hundred years without any outside help, fellowship, or encouraging words. Criticism flowed like rivers from the people in that day. The Noah family was the talk of the place, the whole civilization: Look at that Noah family! What idiots! How crazy they are! For seven days of mercy that hand had been stretched out; then the heavens and the earth opened; water gushed out from above and below. At last people were becoming believers, thousands of them by the moment. Some were beating on the ark and screaming, Let us in! Some were pounding on the door hoping it would open.
They believed now; believed there was going to be a flood. The last mountain peak, the last highest place was finally covered over. It was too late. God despises unbelief.
The Word of God goes so far as to say it is impossible to please Him without faith. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him Hebrews I see the Lord stretching out His hand to a people who had given Him a lot of trouble: the Israelites. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear I John If you have faith in the blood, the Holy Spirit will use divine blood love and flow that fear right out of you.
Moses, tell the people to stand still and see the greatness when the hand of God is stretched forth. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever Exodus Stretch forth thine hand: And the LORD said unto Moses…lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea Exodus , It was more than just a rod being raised; it was a rod of power, and it brought results.
And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left Exodus , The waters of the Red Sea separated, and then the Lord lifted His hand again and destroyed a whole army that had come after the Israelites.
And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians, And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen. And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them Exodus The waters separated, and the Israelites believed enough to walk across on dry ground; but then the waters crashed back together to bury the Egyptian army who had been in close pursuit.
Safe on the other side, however, the Israelites were closed in again with doubt. So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water. And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.
And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them, And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee Exodus Human faith does not produce miracles.
We not only have the five physical senses, we have the six spiritual senses if we want them; they are willed to us, and that sixth sense is faith. When you cry, Stretch forth your hand, oh, Lord! Some people call on God to help and then when He helps them, they still doubt Him. Too many Christians doubt the power of the blood and fail to use the blood daily. All power is in the blood. What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Every miracle of the Lord, every healing comes through the blood.
With his stripes we are healed Isaiah With His stripes, His healing blood, we are physically healed. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid John , Jesus said to the disciples. You have nothing to fear in this final hour if you keep your eyes on Jesus and walk in His steps. Elijah took his servant up on a mountain to pray because there had been no rain for three-and-a-half years. The Lord had let Elijah know it was time for rain, and rain was what Elijah was looking for; but the Lord must stretch forth His hand.
And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times I Kings , Elijah knew it was done. The Lord had stretched forth His hand and the rain was about to fall. And he [Elijah] said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down that the rain stop thee not.
Isaiah states that, "The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon you. Jesus took the children up in His arms and blessed them. Jesus used every part of Himself to bless the children, His physical body to hold Him, and His Spirit and Soul, His emotions and the authority of His words to bless them.
Clapping: Clapping is applauding and pleasing to God and biblical. It is praising our God for who He is and what He has done. If we can clap, jump, shout and cheer at a football stadium, concert, or performance, then we should do it for the Lord above, the Creator of the universe. Psalm tell us to clap. Shout to God with the voice of triumph! Get excited! Strong's No. Here it appears, when they define clap, that heaven is going to be noisy!
If you think heaven is going to be boring and somber you are wrong. The angels are singing all day long: Holy Holy Holy! That doesn't sound boring or somber! They are doing it in praise and adoration to our Father. We continue to have clapping and joy in Isaiah We shall go out with joy. Raising our hands, clapping and singing praise to our Lord gives us joy. How can you stay sad or depressed when you are singing, dancing, clapping and exalting the King of Kings and Lord of Lords? I am not suggesting you go and do all these hand movements and gestures and remember this list.
I am encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and enjoy your worship time with the Lord.
Don't be afraid to open your hands and let the Holy Spirit move through them. Let it happen naturally. I remember the first time the Holy Spirit called me to raise my hands.
I was in a charismatic church where everyone was doing it. I kind of felt this tugging inside me like I should, but I was afraid.
God Calls Moses Out To Deliver His People
Did I do it? Yes, and I have never turned back. The feeling of love, honor and respect, and intimate feeling I have with the Lord is indescribable.
Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and try something different in worship, after all we are created to worship Him. Everyone enters into worship differently, but why not be open to the Spirit's leading in case He calls you to do something different. Great Resources to help you excel in ! God then tells Moses that He will make him a great nation, but that He is going to kill the rest of the Israelites who are worshiping this false idol. At this point, Moses then proceeds to stand in the gap for his people and argues with God not to kill and consume them.
After Moses convinces God not to consume His own people, he then comes back down from the mountain to see what they have been up to. When he sees the golden calf they had made to worship and they were all singing and dancing around it, he becomes furious! At this point, Moses takes the two tablets of stone that God had just given him, and throws them down at the foot of the mountain breaking both of these tablets into pieces!
He then proceeds to take the calf which they had just made, burns it, grinds it down into a powder, scatters it into the water and then makes the Israelites drink it!
The Time Machine
Talk about the full wrath of God in manifestation! After each man takes the side they wanted to be on, Moses then gives the orders to have all the people who did not choose God to be killed right there on the spot. The Bible says that men were killed that day due to their rebellion against God Almighty Himself. Moses then goes back up to Mount Sinai, and God once more gives him 2 more tablets of stone to replace the ones that he had just broken.
However, in this meeting with God, something really awesome happens! However, God tells Moses:. God then tells Moses to stand in the cleft of a rock. He will then proceed to pass by Moses, but only showing Moses His back, not His face. Here are the exact words from God Himself:. So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with My hand while I pass by.
Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen. This has to be the topper experience for Moses. With everything that he has just witnessed — with God releasing His people from Egypt with incredible displays of supernatural power, being able to talk direct with God through a burning bush, being able to talk direct to God through fire and smoke up on Mount Sinai, and then to top it all off, God actually allows Moses to see His manifest presence from His backside.
And this one man experiences all of this in one lifetime! The Bible then gives Moses what I feel may be the highest compliment that God could ever give to anyone. The Bible says:. The 1 thing that God wants from each of us is a close, intimate, personal relationship. Moses obviously accomplished all of this in his lifetime. After Moses has this incredible direct encounter with God Himself, the Bible says that when he came back down off the mountain — that the skin of his face shone.
The people were afraid to come near him due to the bright glow that was coming off his face after being in the manifest presence of the Lord! Moses then had to wear a veil over his face for a while to help hide the glow so as not to overwhelm the rest of his people. The other amazing thing that occurred during the Israelites 40 year journey in the wilderness was the building of a tabernacle that would hold the manifest presence of God Himself in it.
God gave Moses specific instructions as to how He wanted this tabernacle built. After the tabernacle was built, the Bible says that a cloud covered the tabernacle during the day and the appearance of fire covered it at night! Whenever the cloud would lift up off the tabernacle, the Israelites would follow it to wherever it would settle. As long as the cloud stayed on the tabernacle, the Israelites would stay right where they were camped. Once the cloud would lift off the tabernacle, they would then once again follow it to wherever it would settle.
Near the beginning of the year journey through the wilderness at about the two and half year mark, God brings the children of Israel up to the borders of the Promised Land — the land of Canaan. Ten of the twelve spies come back with a bad report. They tell the rest of the Israelites that the people who dwell in this land are strong, the cities are well fortified and large, and that they will not be able to overcome these people because they are stronger and larger in stature than the Israelites were themselves.
THE GOSPEL OF ST. MARK
Giants and strongholds thus kept the Israelites from believing that God could overcome these human obstacles for them. After hearing this bad and negative report, Caleb speaks out and says:. During their journey through the wilderness, the Israelites were constantly complaining about anything and everything.
Not enough food, not enough water, too long of a time in the wilderness, etc. Finally, when God was just about ready to reward them, they make their last and final mistake of not believing in Him and that He could overcome the giants and strongholds they had seen in this land. When God hears this bad report from the 10 spies, He says that is going to be it. Here is the direct word from God Himself:. But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.
Joshua and Caleb were thus the ones to lead this younger generation under 20 years old into the Promised Land, and they were successful in conquering and overcoming all of the giants and strongholds that the older generation initially saw. The rest of the Israelites 20 years and older all died out in the wilderness over the next 40 years due to their lack of faith and belief in God! Imagine these people saw God deliver them from the Egyptians by throwing 10 powerful plagues against the Pharaoh.
They then see God literally part the Red Sea. They see God give Moses 10 commandments miraculously manifested on two stone tablets. And yet, they still could not believe that God could overcome and conquer the giants and strongholds they saw in the Promised Land.
No wonder God blew His cork and washed His hands of them and left them to die and rot out in the desert. The most amazing thing about all of this is that not one man over 20 years old passed this test with the Lord. I guess that is why Jesus says blessed are those who have not seen and yet still believe. The saddest part about this Moses story is that he was not allowed to go into the Promised Land with the rest of the younger generation.
Moses died on Mount Nebo and was years old when he died. What happened in this incident is that God told Moses to speak out to a rock in the presence of the Israelites and that the rock would then bring forth water for the people and their animals. However, for some strange reason, Moses strikes the rock twice with his rod instead of just speaking out to the rock as God had told him to specifically do. He was thus in direct violation of a direct command by God Himself.
This is obviously something that we can all learn from. When God tells you to do something specific — do not ever question His command. Just do it or else you could reap serious consequences like Moses did. You could end up losing out on a very big blessing that God may have had in store for you. Read below or add a comment What a story! Its now a challenge for us leaders , that however much the people we lead are stubborn, we should look to God for guidance on how to lead them.
