I am still reading it and it is very good so far. Format: Paperback. After the disappointing second volume in this series of fan written stories I had trepidation about buying volume III, but I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised.
There is still a slight over-emphasis on redundant soap opera material, but thankfully there is also a wealth of good ideas worthy of any Star Trek collection. I still think this isn't quite as good a collection as volume I but it is definitely light years ahead of volume II, and because of that I will certainly be looking out for volume IV when it is published. Deserving of a hearty "Well Done" to most of the contributors.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds by Dean Wesley Smith
One person found this helpful. This book is so Star Trek; the whole serice is. The writers are the next Peter Davids and Diane Careys. They followed the Star Trek universes with there own style and insights and I look forward to seeing them along side the other titles in star trek. See all 3 reviews. It's a truely novel approach. This is an excellent book. Don't hesitate to buy it. I love this series. Too bad it ended, I really enjoyed the amateur authors; it gives a fresh feel to Star Trek. I have noticed that many Sci-Fi has died off.
So enjoy it while you can still get it. The writing is uneven and subpar and some of the stories contain the same characters but tell diametrically opposed stories. Not very "canon" either it seems to me. Verified Purchase. Also included are maps and layouts of ALL of the Enterprise ships and where everyone stayed plus each department apart from the bridges.

I always wanted to know where Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy had his quarters. A side note here When we were back at age 5 before Star Trek and McCoy got his nickname of Bones, my very best friend nicknamed me "Bones" because I was skeleton skinny. He named his 4th child, a daughter, after me Very prestigious. Her other 4 sisters and brothers and family live in South Carolina.
