Coin Master Spring into Summer New Event Highlights

This course will take an objective look at the role of the modern zoo. During the spring semester, students will examine local zoo facilities around Tampa Bay. This will include a two-day intensive program at Busch Gardens Tampa where students will work as a zookeeper. The course will culminate with a trip to the Pacific Northwest — Seattle and Vancouver to visit local zoos and aquariums and meet with staff, conservationists, and educators.

While many aspects of the natural world required explanations by ancient civilizations, it is likely none were as challenging as eclipses, earthquakes, or volcanoes. How do modern and ancient approaches to understanding the natural environment impact environmental stewardship? How did the ancients account for these celestial and geologic events that were generally beyond their experience?
