It's an excellent insight into life as a child during that time and she tells her story so well.
Her daughter Kathleen has returned to meet her family there and in the final chapter of this new edition, tells her story since. A brilliant book and one I'd recommend reading whether you're going there or not - but even better to read it when you're there.
